Thank you for attending our 23rd Australia Fiji Business Forum which was centered on the theme ‘Australia and Fiji: Exploring Business Opportunities Together’. As the only bilateral business conference held between Australia and Fiji, we would like to thank all attendees for making this a hugely successful and engaging event that included a wide range of delegates from Australia, Fiji and the wider Pacific.
With over 109 attendees joining us, representing 70 plus organisations, the AFBC and the FABC are very pleased with the turnout for this event which shows a strong level of engagement between industry, government and of course, our Australia-Fiji business community. The high turnout also reinforced the great interest our delegates have in the bilateral relationship and commercial opportunities present in the Fijian economy. There was certainly a strong emphasis on Fiji’s consecutive eight-year growth which is predicted to continue into future years making it an attractive place for investment.
You can read a full event report here. Key outcomes of the #23AFBF are also being finalised and will be shared with delegates when ready.
We would particularly like to thank the Prime Minister of Fiji, the Rear Admiral (retired) the Hon. Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, and the Australian Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon. Keith Pitt MP, the Hon. Faiyaz Koya MP, Fijian Minister for Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, and the Hon. Inia Seruiratu MP, Fijian Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, as well our range of experts in economy, investment, public enterprise, disaster recovery, agriculture, capacity-building and Fiji’s export industry for sharing their time and knowledge with our audience. It was also a great pleasure to hear from our Chief Guest at the Official Forum opening dinner, Australian Fijian international sportswoman Cassandra Staples who spoke about how lessons in sport are aligned to business. Finally, we also give a special thanks to each of our generous sponsors who have made this event possible. We are most grateful to you all for your contributions.
Every year, we strive to create a quality program with a varied selection of speakers and industry updates, and also provide valuable networking opportunities for both Australian and Fijian businesses. In order to continue improving, we rely heavily on your feedback.
